The Isle of Wight Steam Railway offers extensive refreshment facilities for a full range of meals, drinks, and snacks.
In our fully-licensed Refreshment Rooms at Havenstreet Station, Janet and her experienced team cater for Elevenses, Lunch and Afternoon Tea. Enjoy an ‘Engine Driver's Lunch’ or a ‘Shunter's Special’, cool down with a refreshing ice cream or spoil yourself with a selection of sumptuous cake or a specially prepared cream tea.
Meals, light bites and drinks can be enjoyed in the pleasant ambience of The Calbourne Room, with views out across the Children's Play Area and our Events field. The decor of The Calbourne Room offers something of interest with interpretive panels telling some of the story of Havenstreet, the station, and our Railway. There are also two superb large-scale pictures - one showing a twilight steam train on Ryde Pier in the 1960s, and the other depicting the former Newport Railway Station before it closed to passenger traffic in 1966.
On warm days you may wish to take your refreshments outside and you are welcome to eat 'al-fresco' on our covered patio area, or choose a picnic bench opposite the platform for a great view of the trains.
For light snacks on busy days our Refreshment Kiosk is also open offering a range of sandwiches, drinks and ice creams. Here you can eat in the kiosk garden area or find a comfortable spot in the original Station Garden just opposite the Signal Box.
Please note, there are no refreshment facilities at Wootton, Ashey or Smallbrook stations, although Wootton and Ashey do offer pleasant spots for picnics.
