40 Hours of Trains - First Pictures!

Print PDF

The IW Steam Railway's continuous service of steam trains over 40 hours got underway at 6am this morning (Saturday 25th June).

With the Railway's two Victorian locomotives - No 24 'Calbourne' & No. 8 'Freshwater' - both in steam, and train guard Robin Tagart still in his nightcap, a handful of eager 'early-birds' joined Steam Railway staff to ride on the first train of the day. Below are a selection of photos from the first trains of the weekend!

40 Hours of Trains continues through until 10pm on Sunday 26th June, with trains running through the night! A special timetable is in operation and refreshments are available throughout the 40 hours. A real ale bar is also available during 'normal' hours.
